Flomaster Staedtler Pigment Liner 308

The Staedtler Pigment Liner 308 is a fine black fineliner designed for precise writing, technical drawing and detailed sketching. It delivers consistent ink flow through a hard metal-clad tip that keeps line width stable, making it suitable for archival-quality notes, illustrations and inked artwork. The waterproof, lightfast pigment ink resists smudging and fading, supporting long-term preservation of drawings and documents.

Advantages

The fine point produces clean, uniform lines that are suitable for drafting and detailed illustrations without bleeding on most papers. The waterproof and lightfast pigment ink ensures drawings remain sharp after drying and withstand exposure to moisture and daylight. The rigid tip provides durability and consistent performance over extended use, while the pen’s balanced design supports comfortable controlled strokes for both writing and drawing tasks.

Key specifications

• Tip type: hard metal-clad fine tip for stable line width
• Ink color: black pigment ink
• Ink properties: waterproof and lightfast when dry
• Line quality: consistent, non-bleeding on most papers
• Suitable surfaces: paper, technical drawing film and sketch pads
• Usage: single pen designed for precision work

How to use

Begin by testing the fineliner on a scrap of the paper you plan to use to confirm line weight and ink absorption. Hold the pen at a comfortable angle and apply light, even pressure to maintain the integrity of the fine tip. For best results allow the ink to dry fully to achieve waterproof and lightfast properties before exposing the work to moisture or layering with other media. Replace the cap after use to prevent drying of the tip.

Recommendations

Use the fineliner on smooth, medium-weight to heavy-weight papers for optimal line crispness and minimal feathering. Avoid using on rough or highly textured surfaces that can wear the tip faster. When working with water-based washes, let pigment ink dry completely to preserve waterproof qualities. Store horizontally or with cap on to prolong pen life.
