InLine podaljšek PS/2 vtič / vtičnica 5m

This InLine PS/2 Cable Extension male / female 5m provides a straightforward way to extend PS/2 connections for keyboards, mice and other legacy peripherals. The 5-metre length gives additional reach between a computer and a PS/2 device without repositioning hardware. One end has a male PS/2 plug and the other a female PS/2 socket, enabling a direct link between an existing PS/2 cable and the host port while maintaining the original connector standard.

Advantages

The cable offers a simple, plug-and-play extension with durable insulation and strain relief at both ends to reduce wear on connectors. Its length allows flexible placement of input devices and improves cable management behind desks or workstations. The passive design requires no drivers or power, ensuring compatibility with systems that use standard PS/2 signaling.

Suitable for

• Extending PS/2 keyboard or mouse connections
• Connecting legacy peripherals to desktops or KVM switches
• Improving cable routing in office or industrial setups
• Temporary workstation rearrangements without changing equipment

Key specifications

• Cable type: PS/2 extension cable (male to female)
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector gender: one male plug, one female socket
• Compatibility: standard 6-pin PS/2 peripheral connections
• Construction: insulated cable with molded connector housings and strain relief

How to use

Connect the male end of the extension cable to the PS/2 port of your computer or KVM switch and plug the existing PS/2 peripheral cable into the female socket. Ensure connectors are aligned and inserted gently to avoid bending pins. After connecting, test the keyboard or mouse to confirm the device is recognized and functioning correctly. To disconnect, pull the connector housing rather than the cable itself.

Recommendations

For reliable signal integrity, avoid tightly coiling the cable and keep it away from high-voltage power lines or strong electromagnetic sources. Use the extension for short to moderate distances typical of desk setups; very long chains of passive PS/2 extensions can increase signal degradation. Inspect connectors periodically for bent pins or damage and replace the cable if physical wear is observed.
