Mobilni omrežni modem ZTE MF79U

The ZTE MF79U is a portable cellular network modem designed to provide mobile internet access over GSM, LTE and UMTS networks. The device supports Wi‑Fi 802.11b/g/n and operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band with a maximum wireless throughput of up to 150 Mbit/s. Equipped with a USB Type‑A port and a MicroSIM slot, the MF79U also accepts MicroSD cards and offers an external antenna connection via a TS‑9 connector for improved signal reception in areas with weak coverage. The modem’s compact white enclosure makes it suitable for travel and temporary installations where fixed broadband is unavailable.

Advantages

The MF79U delivers multi‑network compatibility with GSM, LTE and UMTS support, enabling flexible connectivity across different mobile infrastructures. Its Wi‑Fi 802.11b/g/n support and 2.4 GHz operation allow straightforward connection of laptops, smartphones and tablets without additional drivers on most systems. The presence of a USB Type‑A port and MicroSD compatibility increases versatility for power and shared storage options, while the external TS‑9 antenna connector allows users to attach an antenna to boost reception in low‑signal environments.

Suitable for

• Temporary or mobile internet access for remote work or travel
• Small office or home backup internet connection
• Connecting multiple Wi‑Fi devices where wired broadband is not available
• Environments with variable signal strength that benefit from an external antenna

How to use

Insert a compatible MicroSIM card into the SIM slot and, if needed, insert a MicroSD card for shared storage. Connect the MF79U to a power source or a host device using the USB Type‑A port; after powering on, enable the device’s Wi‑Fi network on your client device and connect using the network name and password provided by the modem. If signal strength is weak, attach a TS‑9 compatible external antenna to improve reception. Configure APN and network settings through the modem’s web interface or accompanying software according to your mobile operator’s instructions.

Recommendations

Place the modem near a window or elevated position to maximize cellular reception, and update APN settings for the active SIM card before relying on the device for critical connections. Use an external TS‑9 antenna in areas with limited coverage and avoid placing the modem near large metal objects or other sources of RF interference for more stable throughput.
