Strežniški rack Silverstone RM42-502

The Silverstone RM42-502 is a dual-purpose chassis suitable for industrial rackmount installations and high-end home systems. It supports vertical or horizontal placement and accepts ATX motherboards and PS2 form factor power supplies. The compact case provides multiple drive bay options and comes with front and rear fans pre-installed for front-to-back airflow.

Advantages

The front panel includes an anti-theft lock and a USB Type-C port for convenient connectivity. Cooling is provided out of the box with one 120 mm front fan and one 80 mm rear fan, and the chassis supports up to 240 mm liquid cooling radiators. An expansion card retainer prevents GPU sag during transport or operation. Reserved mounting holes allow installation of sliding rails (RMS06-22 sold separately). The case supports 2.5", 3.5" and 5.25" drives, giving flexible storage options.

Suitable for

• Industrial rackmount servers and equipment racks
• High-end home or small office workstation builds
• Compact server applications requiring multiple HDD/SSD bays
• Systems needing front-to-back airflow or 240 mm liquid cooling

How to use

Install an ATX motherboard and a PS2-compatible power supply into the chassis, mount storage devices into the 5.25" bays or appropriate drive adapters for 3.5"/2.5" drives, and connect front-panel USB Type-C as needed. Ensure the pre-installed 120 mm front and 80 mm rear fans are connected to the motherboard or fan controller for proper front-to-back airflow. If using liquid cooling, install a compatible 240 mm radiator in the designated locations and verify clearance for internal components. Use the expansion card retainer to secure graphics or expansion cards before transporting the system.

Recommendations

For reliable thermal performance, maintain unobstructed intake and exhaust paths, confirm compatibility of a 240 mm radiator with your chosen components, and use the expansion card retainer to prevent GPU sag during movement or long-term operation.
