Tirnica Novoflex Castel-Cross Q

Two CASTEL-CROSS cross focusing racks provide a professional solution for precise camera positioning along two orthogonal axes. The rail assembly enables fine, stable adjustment of the camera in X and Y directions while maintaining accuracy and mechanical stability. Two versions are available: CASTEL-CROSS-MC for the NOVOFLEX MiniConnect quick release system and CASTEL-CROSS-Q for the Q=BASE quick release system. The kit includes two CASTEL-Q modules and one camera coupling plate QPL 1; the X axis travel is 280 mm (11") and the Y axis travel is 125 mm (5").

Advantages

The CASTEL-CROSS design delivers sensitive, smooth micro-adjustment on both axes without sacrificing stability. Its compact, lightweight construction (rail sold as a single component) supports repeatable positioning and integration with NOVOFLEX quick release systems. The separate versions ensure compatibility with either MiniConnect or Q=BASE mounts, allowing straightforward mounting and removal of camera gear.

Suitable for

• Macro photography where precise X–Y framing is required
• Studio product photography needing repeatable camera placement
• Photogrammetry and stacked-focus workflows
• Any application requiring fine two-axis camera translation

Key specifications

• X axis travel: 280 mm (11")
• Y axis travel: 125 mm (5")
• Included components: 2 × CASTEL-Q modules, 1 × camera coupling plate QPL 1
• Weight (rail only): approximately 870 g
• Finish color: grey

How to use

Mount the appropriate CASTEL-CROSS version (MC or Q) to your support or tripod, attach the camera to the QPL 1 coupling plate and secure it to the quick release system. Use the two-axis adjustment controls to move the camera smoothly along the X and Y directions until the desired framing or focus alignment is achieved. Make incremental adjustments and lock the position when satisfied to maintain stability during shooting.

Recommendations

For precise macro or focus-stacking work, use small, controlled increments on the X and Y controls and verify focus at each step. Match the CASTEL-CROSS version to your quick release system (MiniConnect or Q=BASE) to ensure proper coupling and safe handling of your camera.
