Kabelski adapter ShiverPeaks BS13-20013

The ShiverPeaks BS13-20013 Cable Gender Changer provides a compact solution for connecting devices with USB 3.1 Type-C ports to peripherals using a USB 2.0 Type-A plug. Designed for simple, tool-free adaptation, the adapter maintains a low-profile black housing and a straightforward plug-and-play operation to bridge compatibility gaps between modern laptops, tablets, and older accessories.

Advantages

This gender changer supports physical adaptation between USB-C and USB-A connectors without requiring drivers or additional software. The compact form factor and durable casing reduce strain at connection points and make the adapter suitable for transport. While the USB 3.1 Type-C side enables modern reversible insertion, the USB 2.0 Type-A side provides broad backward compatibility with a wide range of existing peripherals.

Suitable for

• Connecting older USB-A peripherals (keyboards, mice, flash drives) to devices with USB-C ports
• Temporary adaptation in travel or office environments
• Using legacy accessories with modern laptops and tablets
• Quick compatibility checks and data transfer at USB 2.0 speeds

Key specifications

• Connector A: USB 3.1 Type-C (reversible plug)
• Connector B: USB 2.0 Type-A (male)
• Data transfer mode: USB 2.0 signaling speeds up to 480 Mbps
• Housing color and material: black, durable plastic exterior
• Form factor: compact, low-profile inline adapter

How to use

Insert the USB 3.1 Type-C end of the gender changer into the USB-C port on the host device. Connect the USB 2.0 Type-A plug of the peripheral to the adapter. The connection is plug-and-play; the host operating system will recognise most standard USB peripherals automatically. Ensure both connectors are fully seated to maintain reliable data and power connections.

Recommendations

Use the adapter for data and peripheral connectivity at USB 2.0 speeds. Avoid relying on the adapter for high-bandwidth USB 3.x or power-delivery functions. For sustained power-hungry devices or high-speed data transfers, use a direct cable or a dedicated USB hub that explicitly supports the required protocols and power levels.
