Optični kabel Helos 5m OS2 LC/SC

The Helos 5m OS2 LC/SC fibre optic cable is designed for high-speed single-mode data transmission over a 5-metre link. It uses an OS2-grade optical fibre with a 9 µm core diameter and provides full duplex connectivity via LC connector on one end and SC connector on the other. The cable is intended for stable, low-loss connections in structured networks, data centres and telecommunications racks where single-mode performance and low attenuation are required.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable offers low attenuation and stable signal integrity across long runs thanks to the OS2 single-mode specification and 9 µm core. The LC and SC connector combination allows flexible interfacing with equipment that uses either compact LC ports or legacy SC ports. With a 5 m length the cable provides moderate reach suitable for rack-to-rack and equipment-to-switch connections while preserving bandwidth for high-speed links. The full duplex configuration supports simultaneous bi-directional data transfer without additional cabling.

Suitable for

• Data centre patching between switches, transceivers and patch panels
• Telecommunications equipment connections in racks and cabinets
• Single-mode optical links requiring low insertion loss over short-to-moderate distances
• Network installations migrating from SC to LC ports or requiring mixed-connector cabling

Key specifications

• Fibre type: single-mode OS2
• Core diameter: 9 µm
• Length: 5 m
• Connector A: LC (single-fibre connector)
• Connector B: SC (single-fibre connector)
• Mode: full duplex (bi-directional pair)
• Typical use: indoor, patch cabling

How to use

Inspect connectors and ports for dust or damage before making connections. Align the LC connector with the matching LC port and insert until it clicks; align the SC connector with the SC port and push until it engages. Ensure proper orientation and avoid forcing connectors into incompatible ports. For optimal signal quality, keep bend radius within manufacturer-recommended limits and route the cable to avoid sharp bends, crushing or excessive tension. When disconnecting, release connector latches carefully and pull straight out to prevent endface damage.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable using dust caps on connector endfaces when not in use, clean connector endfaces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools prior to connection, and maintain a minimum bend radius consistent with single-mode fibre handling to preserve performance and minimise insertion loss.
