Kotnik Bahco CS400

The Square Bahco CS400 is a compact precision tool designed for accurate measurement and layout of right angles and straight lines. Weighing approximately 420 g, the square offers a balanced feel for extended use while remaining easy to carry on job sites. Constructed for carpentry and general construction tasks, this tool provides reliable reference edges for marking, checking squareness, and aligning components during assembly or installation.

Advantages

The Bahco CS400 square provides stable, true edges that reduce marking errors and speed up setup. Its lightweight construction allows easier handling without sacrificing rigidity, and the clear, consistent geometry helps maintain repeatable measurements. The compact size makes it suitable for tight workspaces and quick checks on finished assemblies.

Suitable for

• Carpentry layout and marking
• Checking and setting right angles in construction
• Cabinet and furniture assembly
• On-site verification of squareness on framed work
• DIY projects requiring accurate edge references

Key specifications

• Type: Precision try square for layout and angle checking
• Weight: approximately 420 g for easy handling
• Material: rigid construction providing stable reference edges
• Geometry: true 90° angle for marking and verification tasks
• Size: compact form factor suitable for tight spaces and portable use

How to use

Place the stock of the square firmly against the reference edge of the workpiece so the blade sits flat on the surface. For marking a perpendicular line, hold the stock tight to the edge and draw along the blade with a pencil or marking knife. To verify squareness, align one face of the square with a known straight edge and inspect the contact along the blade for gaps or light showing; where necessary, adjust the assembly until full contact is achieved. Use the square for setup checks throughout cutting, assembly, and installation stages to maintain consistent right angles.

Recommendations

Store the square in a dry place and protect its edges from knocks or bending. Clean the reference faces after use to remove sawdust or debris. For highest accuracy, avoid using the tool as a striking surface or lever. Periodically check the 90° angle against a known reference to ensure continued precision.
