Pila Bahco 6-344-08-2-2

The Bahco 6-344-08-2-2 is a flat file engineered for controlled material removal on plastic, plywood and wood surfaces. With a 20 mm working width and 6.5 mm thickness, this tool offers a balance of precision and rigidity for shaping edges, refining profiles and smoothing small areas. Its lightweight construction (approximately 200 g) and flat profile make it suitable for close work where tactile feedback and accuracy matter.

Advantages

The file combines a narrow 20 mm cutting surface with a shallow 6.5 mm depth to give predictable material take, reducing the risk of over-filed areas. Its flat geometry allows even pressure distribution across the workpiece, improving finish quality on delicate materials such as plastics and thin plywood. Low weight aids hand control during extended use and reduces operator fatigue. The design is consistent with professional hand-tool standards to provide reliable, repeatable results.

Suitable for

• Trimming and shaping plastic components and edges
• Refining profiles and joints in plywood or laminated board
• Smoothing and deburring wooden parts in carpentry and joinery
• Detail work on models, prototypes and small wooden assemblies

Key specifications

• Tool type: flat file for hand use
• Working width: 20 mm
• Thickness / depth: 6.5 mm
• Suitable materials: plastic, plywood, wood
• Approximate weight: 200 g
• Profile: flat, single-plane cutting face

How to use

Secure the workpiece to prevent movement and choose a filing direction that follows the grain when working with wood. Hold the file at a comfortable angle and apply even, controlled strokes along the surface, using the full length of the cutting face where practical to maintain an even finish. Use light pressure on delicate materials like plastic or thin plywood and periodically check progress to avoid removing excess material. Keep the file clean by brushing filings from the teeth to maintain cutting efficiency.

Recommendations

For best results, pair the flat file with a suitable handle to improve grip and control. When working with plastics, test on a scrap piece to determine the correct filing angle and pressure. Store the file in a dry place and protect the cutting face from contact with harder tools to preserve tooth geometry and extend service life.
