S/FTP patch kabel Cat6 Draka Comteq 5m zelen

The Draka Comteq S/FTP Patch Cable Cat6 5m in green is a shielded network patch cable intended for high-speed data transmission over short to medium distances. Constructed with four shielded twisted pairs and an overall foil shield, this Cat6 cable reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk to maintain signal integrity. With a 5 meter length and standard RJ45 terminations, it is suitable for connecting switches, patch panels, routers and networked devices in office or data center racks where reliable Gigabit Ethernet connectivity is required.

Advantages

The cable's S/FTP construction provides improved protection against external noise and adjacent-pair interference compared with unshielded alternatives, which helps preserve throughput and reduce packet errors in electrically noisy environments. The Cat6 specification supports Gigabit Ethernet and offers headroom for high-bandwidth applications, while the 5 meter length allows flexible placement within racks and workspaces. A durable outer jacket and molded connectors contribute to mechanical reliability and repeated re-terminations if needed.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches to patch panels in office and data center cabinets
• Linking desktop computers, servers and network printers to LAN infrastructure
• Short to medium horizontal runs within office floors or telecommunications rooms

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6 performance class suitable for 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet
• Shielding: S/FTP — overall foil shield plus individually shielded twisted pairs
• Length: 5 meters
• Connector type: RJ45 to RJ45, 8P8C
• Conductor: Twisted pair copper conductors (solid or stranded depending on assembly)
• Jacket color: Green
• Typical usage environment: indoor installations in offices and data centers

How to use

Route the S/FTP patch cable between network equipment points ensuring that connectors are fully seated into RJ45 ports until a tactile click is felt. Avoid sharp bends and kinks along the cable run; maintain bend radius recommendations typical for Cat6 cabling to prevent signal degradation. When installing in areas with potential electromagnetic interference, orient the cable routing to minimize parallel runs alongside power cables. For rack installations, use cable management panels or ties to secure excess length and prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Verify compatibility of connected devices with Cat6 performance and test the installed link with a network cable tester after installation to confirm continuity, pair integrity and acceptable attenuation. In environments with high electrical noise, ensure proper grounding of shielded equipment and follow local cabling standards for shield termination to achieve the expected interference protection.
